A design that supports the health of natural ecosystems at all levels- global, local and individual, and contributes towards reducing our carbon footprint, energy consumption and waste.
Here are a few ways we are working to achieve our goal:
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Targets
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification
Storm water management through the use of Green roofs
WELL® Certification – WELL® is recognized world wide and throughout the architectural and building industry. It is a scientifically developed, and independently verified tool, to help design buildings and measure/monitor their impact on the health and well-being of all occupants by focusing on 10 concepts: air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community. For example, the SNS will include:
Natural light throughout the building
Walking and cycling paths
Gardens and terraces
Water refill stations
Enhanced air and water quality
Did you know? Green roofs adapt to the elements, protecting from solar heat in the summer and minimizes heat loss in the winter. This energy conservation means less greenhouse gas emissions.
