Thank you for your interest in becoming a Patient Partner with the Niagara Health Engagement Network (NHEN). Patient Partners help to create meaningful improvements in quality, safety and the care experience by using their experiences and perspectives to work alongside staff and physicians on a variety of initiatives.
The Niagara Health Engagement Network (NHEN) is a roster of individuals known as Patient Partners. They are patients, families and community members who are willing to share their experiences to improve care and services at Niagara Health (NH). Patient Partners can determine what, when and how they wish to participate based on their interests and knowledge.
Patient Partners work alongside NH staff and physicians on committees, working groups, special projects, co-designing programs and other initiatives. Patient Partners play a key role in enhancing the patient experience at NH.
Some examples of partnership opportunities include:
- Focus groups
- Health literacy reviews
- Co-designing models of care
- Participating in policy and procedure reviews
- Quality and improvement projects
- Committee advisors
There are many ways for Patient Partners to get involved, both virtually and in person. Patient Partners will receive support from the Office of Patient Experience along their journey, a full orientation to the role and NH and how to make the most of the Patient Partner experience
