Dan joined the team at our 264 Welland Ave. location in St. Catharines in late February. He was just getting adjusted to his new position with the Rapid Access Addictions Medicine (RAAM) and the Out and About clinics when the pandemic hit a few weeks after his arrival.
Niagara Health’s COVID-19 Assessment Centres are aligning with guidance from the Ontario Government to prioritize testing for those most at risk for having COVID-19.
Les centres d’évaluation COVID-19 de Santé Niagara suivront la directive du gouvernement de l’Ontario concernant les tests de dépistage en donnant la priorité aux personnes qui sont le plus à risque.
Au cours de la semaine dernière, aux trois centres d’évaluation COVID-19 de Santé Niagara, il y a eu une hausse importante du nombre de personnes qui veulent subir un test de dépistage. En effet, entre le 11 et le 17 septembre, on a réalisé 3 484 tests, soit une moyenne de près de 500 tests par jour. Le 16 septembre, on a effectué un nombre record de tests, soit 665.
There has been a significant increase in the number of patients seeking testing over the past week, with 3,484 tests performed between Sept. 11 to 17.
We have missed our volunteers over the past six months and are happy to begin safely welcoming them back to our sites.

In preparation for the South Niagara Hospital Project’s Request for Qualifications (RFQ) release, scheduled for the spring of 2021, Niagara Health in partnership with Infrastructure Ontario are hosting an online information session.
Niagara Health will receive $1,454,532 for 2020 and 2021 through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund. This funding will support important infrastructure supports and upgrades for both health care providers.
