Speech language pathologists have specialized skills, knowledge and clinical training in the identification, assessment, treatment and management of swallowing, communication and cognitive communication disorders.
They are regulated by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and hold a master’s or doctorate degree. Inpatient services are available across all Niagara Health sites. In addition the following outpatient services are available:
- Swallowing Clinics at the Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Welland sites including diagnostic assessment.
- Outpatient communication and cognitive communication assessment and treatment for adults at the Niagara Falls and Welland sites.
- Outpatient assessment and treatment for pre-schoolers in partnership with Speech Services Niagara at the Niagara Falls and Welland sites.
