Dr. Victor Osamuyimen Uwaifo

Dr. Victor Uwaifo is the Chief of Mental Health and Addictions at Niagara Health.

Dr. Uwaifo oversees inpatient, outpatient and emergency psychiatric services. Having been an active staff physician at Niagara Health since 2014, he has held additional leadership positions including being the Physician Lead for Mental Health and Addictions Outpatient Services.

A graduate of the University of Benin in Nigeria, Dr. Uwaifo furthered his medical education and training in the United Kingdom and Canada. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the McMaster University’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences.

Dr. Uwaifo has a passion for providing holistic care to patients and views illness from a biopsychosocial perspective and as an avenue for research. In his leisure time, he enjoys hiking, travelling and playing soccer.
