NH physician elected to Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons council

Niagara Health is pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Tsang, Executive Director and Chief Scientist of the Niagara Health Knowledge Institute (NHKI), has been elected to Council of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the national body overseeing medical specialist certification and education.  

Dr. Jennifer TsangThis position will allow Dr. Tsang to play a key role in shaping policies that influence the future of medical practice and patient care nationwide. She will serve a four-year term as one of two representatives for the Medicine Division, Region 3 (Ontario) on the Royal College Council.  

Her appointment highlights the important work being done at Niagara Health and NHKI and brings national recognition to our organization.  

“This appointment is significant for our region, as representation from outside the Greater Toronto Area ensures diverse perspectives in healthcare leadership,” says Dr. Tsang. “I look forward to contributing to the Royal College and helping shape policies that will positively impact medical professionals and patient care across the country.”  

In this role, Dr. Tsang will help influence medical education, research and standards while ensuring voices from across Canada are reflected in national healthcare policies. Her leadership will provide a unique opportunity for Niagara Health to contribute fresh perspectives to the broader healthcare community.  

Dr. Tsang’s first meeting in this new role will take place later this month in Ottawa.
