Patients may have one visitor at their bedside from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Visitors, Support Persons and Essential Care Partners play an integral role in the care and well-being of our patients. With the reduction of COVID cases in the hospital and in the community, we are able to begin gradually opening up visitor restrictions.
Starting Tuesday, March 1, patients staying in the hospital, coming for appointments or visiting the Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centres can have one person with them. We ask patients and their loved ones to review the visitor guidelines before coming to the hospital:
New inpatient visitor and Essential Care Partner guidelines
- Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- There are no restrictions on total number of visitors in a day but inpatients can only have one person at their bedside at a time.
- Children and youth may start visiting as long as they are able to wear a mask at all times.
- Patients may designate up to two Essential Care Partners (ECPs). ECPs can be present 24/7 but will need to coordinate with other visitors to ensure only one person is at the bedside at a time.
Outpatient and same-day appointment Support Person guidelines
- Patients can have one Support Person per visit for the duration of their stay.
Emergency Department and Urgent Care Centre Support Person guidelines
- Patients can have one Support Person at a time.
- Support Persons may change based on the duration of the patient’s visit. However, only one person can be with the patient at a time.
All our infection prevention and control measures will stay in place to maintain a safe environment and must be followed by everyone – screening for COVID-19, wearing a mask at all times, physical distancing, hand hygiene, no eating or drinking inside. This includes individuals who have been vaccinated.
We strongly recommend full vaccination against COVID-19. Visitors must pass COVID-19 screening before entering the hospital; however, proof of vaccination is no longer required.
