With cooler temperatures on the horizon, Niagara Health’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre in St. Catharines will be ending its drive-through service as of end of day Monday, Nov. 2.
Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 3, people requiring a COVID test will access the centre through our dedicated entrance, located behind the Walker Family Cancer Centre in the Outpatient Mental Health area at our St. Catharines Site.
Similar to our Niagara Falls and Welland Assessment Centres, patients will be asked to wait in their car upon arrival until they receive a call from Assessment Centre staff. If they do not have a cellphone or arrive without a vehicle, patients will be asked to come to the door and wait outside until a staff member greets them.
Patients will receive instructions on how to access the centre upon confirmation of their appointment.
We remind the community that testing at our three Assessment Centres is available by appointment only and that we are prioritizing testing for those most at risk for the virus.
People can book an appointment through our new online booking platform or by calling 905-378-4647, ext. 42819 (4-CV19) and leaving a message. Staff at the Assessment Centre will return calls with an appointment date and time. Full details on the Assessment Centres, including how to book an appointment, locations and regular hours of operations, are available here.
