I am incredibly impressed by all of the extraordinary work taking place at Niagara Health. It is an honour to step into this interim position while the search for a new president takes place.
Thanks goes to Suzanne Johnston for leaving us in such excellent shape. My role will be to keep the momentum going and to build on the progress Niagara Health has made to meet the growing and changing needs of our patients, families and the community.
For those who do not know me, I am a lifelong Niagara resident and a Chartered Professional Accountant. Most of my family and friends live in Niagara, and I am deeply committed to contributing to creating the best healthcare system for them and for everyone else who calls Niagara home. Along with sitting on a number of work-related boards, I recently served for six years on the Board of Directors of Gillian’s Place, a local non-profit committed to keeping women and children safe and free from abuse.
Those who do know me know that I have experienced many changes -- ups and downs, comings and goings, and everything in between -- since beginning my career in the Finance department at the St. Catharines General Hospital 28 years ago.
Most recently, I have served as Executive Vice President Finance and Operations and Chief Financial Officer for Niagara Health. My portfolio includes Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering and Facilities Management, Environmental Services, Bio Medical Engineering, Food Services, Information Communication Technology, Capital Planning and Development and Health Records. I am also the Executive Lead for the new South Niagara Hospital.
I have served as Interim President before – when the search was underway that ultimately landed Suzanne as our President. Like last time, I will continue with my Executive Vice President responsibilities in addition to those of the President.
