We are inspired by Donna Chamberlain, a patient at our Walker Family Cancer Centre who helps other patients through an incredible act of kindness.
Donna collects care packages that are full of essential items for oncology patients. The items are generously donated by the community through a Facebook group Donna started called Sisters Support Centre."It feels good to be able to take this experience and turn it into something that is helpful to other people," says Donna.
Odufolake Sheteolu is one of the many cancer patients at Niagara Health who has received one of the care packages. She is grateful to Donna and the community for the support.
"I was so blessed" to receive the gift bag, says Odufolake. "I was so shocked that there was somebody out there that thinks about other people even when she's also going through this. I am so grateful."
