Niagara Health System is looking for volunteers to join our team. We currently have openings for volunteers in our Gift Shops, Information Desks and Emergency Departments across our sites.
"Are you looking for a way to get involved in the community? Are you retired or nearing retirement and seeking a rewarding experience? Consider joining our team of more than 850 volunteers," says Andrea McCollum, NHS Volunteer Co-Ordinator. "Our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the experience of our patients and their loved ones. They are engaged in meaningful work and together have a significant and positive impact on local healthcare."
NHS is looking for people who have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy comforting others to consider being part of our team.
In our Gift Shops, volunteers interact with people visiting the shops and help to achieve our auxiliaries’ fundraising goals.
In the Emergency Department and Information Desks, volunteers assist by answering questions, addressing concerns, being a liaison with staff and enhancing the overall patient experience.
“Hospital volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for people nearing retirement and looking for a meaningful experience in the next chapter of their lives," adds Ms. McCollum. "Based on our current needs, we are focusing on retirees as they are most often available during the key times in the day that support is greatly needed at our sites."
