The Niagara Health System (NHS) is pleased to announce Brady Wood and Derek McNally as permanent members of the senior executive team.
Brady Wood joined the NHS as Interim Chief Communications Officer in July of 2011 on a seconded basis from St. Joseph’s Health System. Similarly, Derek McNally joined the NHS in January of 2012 as Interim Vice President, Patient Services on a seconded basis from Trillium Health Center in Mississauga.
“I am delighted that Brady and Derek will now be joining the NHS on a permanent basis,” says Sue Matthews, Interim President and CEO. “The organization has benefited greatly from both Brady’s and Derek’s contributions during their tenures. We are fortunate to have attracted some of the best and brightest to our hospital. I also want to acknowledge and thank our healthcare partners at the St. Joseph’s Health System in Hamilton and Trillium Health Centre.”
Brady Wood, Chief Communications and External Relations Officer
Brady holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and from York University with a leadership background including roles as Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects, and Director of Strategy and Public Relations at St. Joseph’s Health System. Brady has also been a member of Ministry of Health and Long Term Care review teams, examining and aiding challenged hospitals across Ontario for three consecutive Ministers of Health.
Derek McNally, Vice President Patient Services and Executive Lead, Greater Niagara General Hospital Site
Derek is a Registered Nurse by education and background. He has an International Master’s Degree in Health Leadership from McGill, as well as having completed the Management Leadership Program through the Rotman School of the University of Toronto. Derek’s management background includes roles as Manager of Emergency Services with Credit Valley Hospital, Director of Clinical Services with St. Joseph’s Health System, as well as Health Systems Director at Trillium Health Centre.
