Academics at Niagara Health

If you are a physician based at Niagara Health, or in the Niagara region, and are interested in teaching or other academic opportunities, we would like to hear from you.

There are opportunities to teach clinically and non-clinically within pre-clerkship, clerkship, and postgraduate levels, as well as the chance to engage with students on research, quality improvement and other projects and in advisory capacities. There are research and leadership opportunities available that will allow you to grow personally and professionally within our campus and our community.

Being actively involved in academic work allows for better job satisfaction, professional growth and engagement with like-minded colleagues at our sites and in the community. We have more than 450 medical faculty members in Niagara, including community-based and hospital-based physicians. There are part-time and full-time faculty appointment options available depending on the level of involvement you are seeking.

Niagara Health and the Niagara Regional Campus of McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote of Medicine (NRC) are happy to provide ongoing professional development for physicians wishing to be involved with medical education and we encourage participation from educators at various stages in their career. Whether you are new to teaching or have several years of experience, we can help to increase your efficacy, time management, evaluation skills and confidence. We also provide mentorship and support for education, research and leadership positions, access to library and online resources, and membership in an engaged academic community.
