Reduce identity theft by shredding your old documents

Posted Aug 1st, 2012

Back by popular demand, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Auxiliary has organized another Shred – it event that will take place on August 24 from 10:00 to 2:00. But this year it will be at a new location – the Meridian Credit Union in Virgil, at 1567 Niagara Stone Road.

Over the years most folks accumulate old documents and legal papers but most household shredders capture just a few pages at a time. Identity theft
is a big concern today, so disposing of these papers at Shred-it for a low cost is ideal.

Bring your documents, preferably in a box or garbage bag to the Meridian Credit Union in Virgil on August 25 from 10:00 to 2:00, and Shred-it will professionally shred these documents for you.

Your documents will be put into a bankerʼs box (20”x12”x10”) for measurement. The cost is $5.00 for 1 bankerʼs box and $12.00 for 3. This project is organized by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Auxiliary in concert with Shred-it and Meridian Credit Union, both with excellent reputations in their respective fields, who are donating equipment and personnel to help the hospital and our community.

All proceeds from the Shred-it event will to to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Auxiliary Paramedic Memorial Scholarship Program.
